Michelle Keegan spent Saturday at BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, sharing highlights on Instagram as she watched Marti Pellow, Ronan Keating and headliner Bryan Adams.

The 38-year-old actress, who attended the festival with husband Mark Wright and her rarely seen brother Andrew, posted photos of the group posing in front of BBC Radio 2 signage and sipping cider and Arrowtown vodka sodas. In one selfie with Wright she wrote, "Day drinking we can handle," and described seeing Adams live as "a bucket list moment" that gave her "goosebumps from start to finish."

Keegan’s appearance at the festival came days after she posted images with her five-month-old daughter Palma, who she pushed in a luxury iCandy pram she described as part of a sponsored post. In that Instagram entry she said she had experienced "a special first summer" with her daughter. Keegan and Wright, who share Palma, have traded public appearances with glimpses of family life on social media.

The festival outing also marked a rare break for Keegan from work on a new project, The Blame, which is based on Charlotte Langley’s novel. The six-part ITV series centres on the discovery of a teenage figure skater’s body in the fictional town of Wakestead and follows Detective Inspector Crane, played by Keegan, as an investigation that begins as a tragic death escalates into a broader web of lies, alleged institutional cover-ups and internal police politics.

Keegan leads a cast that includes Douglas Booth as DI Radley, Nigel Boyle as forensic technician Brett Shergill and Joe Armstrong as an ice-skating coach. Other cast members announced for the series include Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Matilda Freeman, Gavin Spokes, Josh Bolt and Ceallach Spellman. The series was commissioned by ITV’s director of drama, Polly Hill, and written and executive produced by Megan Gallagher.

Hill said the show "cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels," while Gallagher called the project "an important and urgent story to tell" and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to adapt Langley’s work. Quay Street Productions is attached to the project, with Nicola Shindler among the team involved in bringing the series to screen.

Keegan first rose to public attention on Coronation Street and has since expanded her career into television drama and streaming projects. The Radio 2 festival appearance underscores a pattern for many performers who balance promotional duties and family life with ongoing production schedules. Her social posts from the weekend offered fans a mix of backstage festival moments and personal updates as she moves between roles and motherhood.
