Actress Michelle Keegan has shared a milestone moment for her daughter, Palma, who has begun walking. Keegan, 39, revealed that her toddler is now 'running,' describing her as a year and a half old during an appearance on ITV's This Morning to promote her new drama, The Blame.
Keegan and her husband, Mark Wright, also 39, welcomed Palma in March 2025 and have largely kept details about their child private, refraining from publicly showing her face. "I was shattered!" Keegan remarked when discussing the challenges of juggling filming with motherhood, a sentiment echoed by her co-star Douglas Booth, who noted she was "working two jobs at once."
This insight into her family life comes after Keegan withdrew from a significant ITV drama project just months before filming was scheduled to begin. She was set to portray a working-class barrister but was replaced by Jodie Whittaker. Insiders described the decision as a "a huge blow" to the production, as Keegan had committed to the role earlier and a filming date had been set. The intense filming schedule for the role would have required her to be away from her daughter for extended periods.
A source close to the situation stated that Keegan found the project's demanding schedule difficult to commit to, especially as it followed her work on the Netflix drama The Woods. "The hours were quite intense and the project was starting straight after her Netflix drama The Woods and she just couldn't commit," the source explained. "She is dedicated to her acting career, but like all working mums has to prioritise being there for her family, juggling work, parenting and being present for Palma."
Keegan had previously spoken about the apprehension she felt returning to work after having Palma. "Coming back to work after having a baby is quite daunting," she said earlier this year. "But the production were so supportive and I was so looked after and it was like working with family."
In a previous interview with Grazia magazine, Keegan discussed the public speculation surrounding her and Wright's plans to start a family, particularly as they waited a decade after marrying. She shared that the constant coverage led her to decide to keep that aspect of her life private. "I'm going to be 38 this year and, as I've got older, I feel more confident about my boundaries," she stated.
