Two mice were captured on video engaged in a sparring match on a London Underground platform, much to the amusement of waiting commuters. The incident occurred on Saturday on the Central Line platform at Oxford Circus.
Footage shows the rodents chasing each other before appearing to stand on their hind legs and exchange punches, a scene that drew chuckles and commentary from onlookers. One passenger could be heard encouraging the fight, saying, "Go on, get him!"
The altercation eventually concluded with one mouse emerging victorious and the other scurrying away with a piece of food.
This encounter is reminiscent of "Station Squabble," an award-winning photograph taken by Sam Rowley in 2020. Rowley's photo also depicted two mice fighting on an Underground platform and won the Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. To capture his image, Rowley spent a week overnight in the Tube network, lying on platforms to get the best angle. The judges noted that such fights over food scraps were brief and infrequent due to the abundance of dropped food.
