Melania Trump arrived at Stansted Airport on Tuesday night wearing a floor-length Burberry trench coat as she and President Donald Trump began a three-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

The First Lady walked alongside the president and was greeted by The Viscount Hood after disembarking their private plane. The couple’s itinerary for the visit includes a reception at Windsor Castle hosted by the King and Queen and meetings with the Prince and Princess of Wales, marking the pair’s second state visit to the U.K., according to the report.

Photographs from the arrival show Melania Trump wearing the trench buttoned and cinched at the waist with the collar open. The coat’s interior showed the familiar Burberry tartan lining. She paired the trench with Dior Empreinte riding boots and a high-neck grey jumper beneath the coat, the Daily Mail reported.

The newspaper described the garment as a camel-coloured, ankle-length trench in Burberry’s classic style. The report said the exact coat worn by the First Lady is no longer available from the label, but cited a similar Burberry Long Waterloo Heritage Trench Coat priced at £1,895. It also listed lower-priced alternatives available at high-street retailers, naming M&S’s Autograph Cotton Rich Longline Trench Coat at £149, H&M’s Twill Trench Coat at $49.99, and other options from Debenhams, John Lewis, N°· Eleven and Pretty Little Thing.

Online comments quoted in the report called the choice "elegant" and said she looked "beautiful," and one commenter noted the appropriateness of wearing Burberry while visiting the U.K. The Daily Mail piece noted that product links on its site are selected and that purchases may generate commission.

Burberry’s trench coat is frequently cited in fashion coverage as a perennial piece in British outerwear, and designers and retailers often highlight trench styles ahead of autumn. The Trench’s association with British heritage and its practical silhouette have helped sustain its popularity among public figures making official appearances.

The state visit will feature a series of ceremonial and diplomatic events in and around London and Windsor. Palace officials and the White House have outlined engagements intended to underscore the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, with participating members of the royal family and senior ministers expected to attend events during the three-day program.
