Melanie C, also known as Sporty Spice, has shared details of her wedding to partner Chris Dingwall. The couple legally married in an intimate ceremony in Dingwall's hometown of Sydney, followed by a celebration with family and friends at Country House Cumbria in England's Lake District.

Vogue published details of the UK celebration, clarifying it was symbolic, with the legal ceremony having taken place earlier. While Mel C opted against a large, traditional wedding, she incorporated certain bridal customs.

For the Sydney ceremony, her "something borrowed" came from the wardrobe of fashion designer Victoria Beckham. "Victoria's dress was my something borrowed," Melanie told British Vogue. "It was very special, having her there."

Beckham had previously revealed that when Mel C inquired about her attire, she mentioned having ordered one of Beckham's dresses that did not fit properly and could not be altered in time. Beckham offered to lend her own dress from her personal wardrobe.

For the UK celebration, Mel C wore a custom-designed wedding gown by Victoria Beckham. Although Beckham was unable to attend the English countryside ceremony due to prior commitments at the World Cup in the United States with her husband, David, she ensured her involvement by designing her friend's "dream" dress. A source told The Mail on Sunday that the dress was a gift, highlighting their close friendship.

Mel C also incorporated an Australian touch into her bridal look, having the words "Sydney" and "7.6.2026" embroidered in blue on the inside of her ivory gown. This detail commemorates the date and location of her legal marriage to Dingwall. The gown itself featured a dramatic open back and a minimalist silhouette. "Victoria's clothes are really feminine in a way that feels comfortable and very me," Mel C stated, describing her personal style.

Spice Girls bandmates Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner, and Melanie B were present at the wedding in Cumbria. The venue, Country House Cumbria, is described as a perfect setting for intimate and sophisticated weddings.

The ceremony was briefly interrupted when a herd of cows from a nearby farm approached the venue. Guests were momentarily startled before the celebration resumed.

Mel C, who had previously expressed reservations about marriage, met Dingwall in 2023 on the dating app Raya. She has spoken about finding love with him after previously feeling she was done with romance. Her upcoming album, "Sweat," was reportedly influenced by her new relationship, evolving from themes of heartbreak to the excitement of a new romance. She described Dingwall as "laid-back," "loads of fun," and someone with whom she shares similar personalities and lifestyles.

This wedding marks Mel C's first marriage, making her the last of the Spice Girls to walk down the aisle. She has previously been open about her struggles with depression, detailing in her 2022 memoir how loneliness contributed to her mental health challenges during and after her time in the Spice Girls.
