Melanie Chisholm, also known as Mel C or Sporty Spice, has shared that she spoke with Spice Girls bandmate Geri Halliwell after Halliwell wore a white dress to Chisholm's recent wedding.
Chisholm, 52, married model Chris Dingwall on Saturday at The Country House Cumbria in the Lake District. While bandmates Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Brown attended, Victoria Beckham was unable to be present due to a scheduling conflict with the World Cup final in New York.
Halliwell's choice to wear white, a color often associated with brides and her personal signature, drew attention. Chisholm addressed the situation in a recent interview with Australian radio station Kiis1065.
"I did have a little chat with Geri because it is her favourite colour," Chisholm said. "She wears it every day. But she had a beautiful floral dress on and it was white white... I did have a little giggle with her about that."
Despite the dress discussion, Chisholm described her wedding weekend as "beautiful." She noted that Victoria Beckham, who designed her wedding gown, was disappointed to miss the event. Beckham was in New York with her husband, FIFA ambassador David Beckham, for the World Cup final.
Chisholm clarified that Beckham's absence was due to family commitments and David Beckham's ambassadorial duties, emphasizing that Beckham is not a significant football fan but made efforts to attend.
Victoria Beckham maintained a connection to the wedding by designing Chisholm's gown and communicating with the bride on the day. Chisholm also mentioned seeing Beckham in Ibiza for a catch-up and sharing updates and photos from the wedding.
Subtle nods to the Spice Girls were incorporated into the ceremony. Multiple band tracks were featured on the playlist, and Chisholm walked back up the aisle to a rendition of "2Become1."
Chisholm met Dingwall in 2023 on the dating app Raya. She previously expressed that she believed she was finished with romance after previous relationships, but friends encouraged her to try the app.
The couple had a prior legal ceremony in Australia. Chisholm included a sentimental detail in her wedding gown by having the words "Sydney" and "7.6.2026" embroidered in blue on the inside of the dress. This served as her "something blue," commemorating the date and location of their official marriage.
Chisholm shared that Dingwall has been a positive addition to her life and that of her 17-year-old daughter, describing their family dynamic as resilient and a good fit with Dingwall.
