Mel B said a full Spice Girls reunion is possible ahead of the group's 30th anniversary, though she cautioned that no plans are set in stone.

In an interview with the New York Post, the 50-year-old singer, known as Scary Spice, said "I hope so" when asked whether the five members — Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell-Horner — would mark the 1996 debut of their album Spice. She added, "I don’t like to say anything until it actually is up and running and you can actually come and watch it. So until then, anything can happen."

Mel B acknowledged there has been public chatter about reunion plans and noted the practical challenges of coordinating the five members and their families. She did, however, leave the door open to a variety of formats, including the possibility of a residency in Las Vegas. Asked about the Sphere as a potential venue, she said, "Oh yeah, that’s a good one. Fingers crossed. Touch some wood."

The idea of a reunion has gained traction since the group briefly reunited to celebrate Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday in April 2024, when all five members performed the 1996 song "Mama" and the 1997 single "Stop" at a private party in London. The last time the Spice Girls appeared together as a five-piece on a major public stage was the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

The group toured as a four-piece in 2019, with Beckham opting out to focus on her fashion business. Geri Halliwell-Horner told The Sunday Times in March that her "hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one," reinforcing public interest in a full reunion.

Mel B's recent personal milestones have intersected with the conversation about a reunion. She married Rory McPhee in a private ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on July 5, 2025, and held a second celebration in Morocco on Aug. 3. Bunton attended the London wedding and Chisholm attended the Moroccan ceremony; Beckham reportedly sent gifts and Halliwell-Horner was away for a Formula 1 event.

Outside of reunion talk, Mel B is balancing professional commitments. She is a judge on America’s Got Talent and is promoting Apple TV+’s KPOPPED, a series that pairs Western artists with K-pop acts to rework classic hits. She and Emma Bunton performed remixed versions of Spice Girls songs with the K-pop group ITZY on the show.

Fans and industry observers have long speculated about a reunion, and the group’s intermittent collaborations and public appearances have kept the possibility alive. Mel B emphasized the enduring personal bonds among the five women, saying they "complement each other" and fit together "like a jigsaw puzzle," but reiterated that she prefers to announce plans only when details are confirmed.

The 30th anniversary of the Spice album will mark three decades since the group’s swift rise to international fame following the 1996 release and the breakout single "Wannabe." Whether the anniversary will prompt a full-scale tour, a residency, special performances or other commemorative projects remains unresolved, and any concrete plans will depend on logistics and the members’ individual schedules.
