Meghan Markle used a newsletter for her lifestyle brand As Ever to promote baking mixes and seasonal products as her husband, Prince Harry, began a four-day visit to the United Kingdom. The message, sent to subscribers hours after Harry visited the late Queen Elizabeth II’s resting place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, encouraged readers to add “a touch of sweetness” to their kitchens.

In the newsletter, the duchess suggested recipes and products available on the As Ever online shop, including a $14 crepe mix and a $14 Shortbread Cookie Mix with Flower Sprinkles, as well as a $9 jar of orange marmalade. The post included a photograph of Markle baking in a white Carolina Herrera dress, which is listed on the retailer’s site at $2,490.

Markle’s promotional message arrived as Harry, 40, undertook a set of official engagements in Britain that his team described as focusing on his long-standing patronages. The duke’s itinerary includes attendance at the WellChild Awards in London, a visit to a community recording studio in Nottingham and other events tied to charities such as the Invictus Games and the Diana Award. His office said the trip is intended to be positive and centered on charity work.

It remains unclear whether Harry will meet King Charles III during the trip. Buckingham Palace declined to confirm any meeting. The prince’s visit comes amid continuing tensions between him and members of the royal family that intensified following legal disputes over security arrangements and public commentary in recent years. Harry has not seen his father since February 2024, when he traveled to the U.K. after the king’s cancer diagnosis; that meeting is believed to have lasted about 30 minutes.

Friends of the duke told The Sunday Times that Harry hopes to one day bring his family back to the U.K. and would like a reconciliation, while sources in royal circles said restoring trust would be difficult after recent events. Harry has previously told the BBC that he believes visits to the U.K. carry risks to his and his family’s safety; a source close to him said live threats persist and that he accepts some level of risk for himself he is unwilling to impose on his children.

Markle has remained in Montecito, California, where her public communications have increasingly highlighted her As Ever brand. In August she posted a promotional clip on Instagram announcing a restock of customer favorites and signaling the launch of Season 2 of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which she said would be released alongside new product drops. The duchess has promoted home and culinary tips in the series; producers filmed both seasons at the same time and a holiday special has been recorded for later release.

The couple, who live in California with their two children, married in Windsor in 2018 and stepped back from senior royal duties in 2020. Harry’s four-day trip is his longest solo return to Britain since 2022, when the couple visited following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Organizers and royal aides said the current visit is structured around patronage work and charity announcements, including a planned “substantial donation” to help Children in Need support work addressing youth violence.

Officials and sources have framed the visit as an attempt to keep the focus on charitable causes. Whether it opens a path toward a private reconciliation with the monarch or wider family members remains uncertain, and palace officials have not publicly commented on any private audiences or meetings that might take place during Harry’s stay.
