Meghan Markle made a guest appearance on Sunday night's episode of MasterChef Australia, serving as a guest judge and sampling dishes from the program's finalists. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, chose to highlight Australian designers for the occasion, wearing a black silk blouse by Matteau, priced at $525, and a $650 black skirt from Camilla and Marc. Megan completed the ensemble with $900 black Manolo Blahnik pumps. Her accessories were understated, and her hair was styled in loose waves.
"I love being able to wear local designers and celebrate the craftsmanship that's happening in whatever region I'm traveling to," Markle told Australian Woman's Weekly. Her appearance on MasterChef Australia was filmed in April.
Markle expressed her enthusiasm for participating in the cooking competition, stating, "Food and cooking to me is really a love language. It's how I show my nurturing and love for my friends, family and kids."
During the episode, she complimented finalist Petro Papathomas on his celeriac ice cream dessert, calling its execution "beautiful" and "very Michelin star." She was later heard telling fellow judges, "Oh my gosh, I have loved it! I can't wait to go back to the hotel and tell Harry all about it!"
When asked by series judge Jean-Christophe Novelli about her preferred dish to cook for her husband and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, Markle described it as a "tough" decision due to varying tastes. She noted that her husband, being from the UK, enjoys "meat, potatoes, cream sauce," while she, as a "California girl," prefers "grilled fish, grilled meats, citrus" and spices. She added that Harry "can handle a really good curry."
Megan also mentioned that their children are "great eaters" and proudly stated that both enjoy Brussels sprouts.
