England WAG Megan Pickford has been reunited with her suitcase, which had been lost by the airline for a week.
The wife of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford shared the news on her social media accounts ahead of England's second World Cup match.
Last week, Pickford revealed that her luggage went missing after arriving in the U.S. to support her husband during England's World Cup campaign. She posted a video of herself opening her hotel room door to find the suitcase, accompanied by the Abba song 'Honey Honey.' She captioned the post: "A special delivery arrived it will not be leaving my sight before tomorrow's game," adding the hashtag #suitcasegate.
In the video, Pickford hugged the suitcase and took it to bed with her. She later commented that her first purchase would be an air tag to track her luggage.
Pickford had initially posted about the lost luggage before England's opening match against Croatia. She shared that she had arrived in the U.S. but her suitcase had not. Posing with her back to the camera and wearing a small Three Lions shirt, she wrote, "Arrived in America yesterday…my suitcase did not. Can I wear my 7 year old top for the game tonight or not ?" She managed to find an outfit for the game, wearing borrowed jeans and the top she traveled in, along with a cowboy hat and a white vest.
She provided an update on Thursday night detailing a mix-up with her husband's brother's suitcase. "Just flew next destination Jordan's brother stayed in Dallas to collect my suitcase that was arriving this afternoon. I brought his suitcase with me on my flight. When he went to collect my case they said they have to hold it in customs for 24 hours. He's now waiting in Dallas for my suitcase to clear and the next flight is Saturday. And I now have his suitcase so he can't brush his teeth," she wrote.
Fans reacted to her posts, with one follower commenting, "You couldn't make it up, but on the flip side I can't wait to see your next outfit." Another added, "make sure you buy spare toothbrushes and pack them in hand luggage."
Pickford also faced challenges with strict regulations on handbag sizes at stadiums. Clear bags must not exceed 12x12 inches, and non-clear bags are limited to 4.5x6.5 inches. This allows for quicker security inspections. For England's first match, she complied with the rules, carrying a Lady Dior bag valued at over £2,500.
Megan and Jordan Pickford married in June 2022 and have three children. Megan has expressed a desire to revive the "WAG era" from the 2006 World Cup, where the partners of players garnered significant media attention.
