Country music singer Megan Moroney was compelled to end her Denver concert on Tuesday night after only three songs, informing the audience through tears that she was too unwell to continue performing. Moroney, 28, had taken the stage at Ball Arena in Denver and performed her songs "Stupid," "Medicine," and "Bless Your Heart" before visibly becoming emotional.
"I am obviously extremely sick, and I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously, two songs in, I just can’t play this show tonight," Moroney told the crowd, according to fan-recorded video. "I want to give you guys the show you deserve … I’m sorry."
Moroney later confirmed the cancellation on her social media, describing it as "the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make." She expressed her regret on Instagram, stating, "I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight." She added that she was "bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all."
The Denver show has been rescheduled for August 27, with tickets purchased for the original date being honored. Refunds are available for those unable to attend the new date. Moroney noted that this was the first time she had to cancel a show and that she was truly sorry.
Fans at Ball Arena reportedly shared messages of support on social media following the abrupt end to the concert.
Moroney's next scheduled performance is on Saturday at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. It remains unclear if this or subsequent dates on her tour, supporting her latest album "Cloud 9," will proceed as planned. Stops in Seattle, Sacramento, and Los Angeles are also part of the tour.
This incident follows recent public attention when Moroney was spotted with U.S. Men's National Team soccer player Christian Pulisic, 27, in Nashville. However, Moroney stated in an interview earlier in July that she is currently single and focused on her tour, mentioning that not being in a relationship allows her to have a clear head without distractions.
