Maya Jama navigated a swift journey from Miami to London on Saturday night, transitioning directly from watching England's World Cup quarter-final victory to hosting Love Island's Aftersun. Jama was present at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami as England defeated Norway 2-1.

Instead of joining fellow fans in celebration, Jama departed the stadium by car with her luggage, heading to the airport for a flight back to the UK. She documented her dash in an Instagram video, humorously noting her quick turnaround. "I had my car outside the stadium with my suitcases in so I could watch the match and now I am on the way to the airport," she stated, adding, "It's coming home. I will land and go straight to Aftersun, you will see me on live TV ASAP."

Upon her arrival, Jama shared a follow-up video from the studio, reassuring viewers she had made it in time for the show. "Proof I made it to work, I'm on set in rehearsals, just like magic," she said, wearing under-eye hydrating masks. She quickly changed into a brown gown for her hosting duties. During the show's opening, she quipped about the tight schedule, joking, "Happy to be back, glad I didn't miss my flight... Can you imagine it would have been Casey [O'Gorman] hosting."

Earlier, Jama had shared glimpses of her experience at the football match, posting photos on Instagram. One image showed her with Olivia, wife of England player John Stones, holding an England foam finger and celebrating the win. She was seen in a white halterneck tank top and navy linen shorts during the game. Another photo captured her attempting to repack her suitcase in the back of her taxi after the match. She captioned a series of photos from the day: "Side quest summer (I made it to work on time, live on your tv tonight at 10pm lol)".

This recent travel follows a series of high-profile events for Jama, who has been commuting between the UK and Mallorca while filming the current series of Love Island. Her summer has also included attending Bad Bunny's London show via a last-minute flight and enjoying nights out. The presenter ended her relationship with Manchester City player Ruben Dias in April.
