Matty Healy and his new wife, Gabbriette Bechtel, were seen enjoying their honeymoon on a California beach, 11 days after their wedding. Healy, the 37-year-old frontman for The 1975, and Bechtel, 29, a model and singer, displayed affection while relaxing by the ocean.
Bechtel wore a black string bikini, while Healy sported blue swim trunks. The couple, who have been linked since September 2023, shared a kiss overlooking the water. They were married on July 18 in a ceremony at Castillo del Lago, a property formerly owned by Madonna.
The wedding ceremony was attended by celebrity guests including Charli XCX, Emily Ratajkowski, and Alex Consani. A representative for the couple confirmed their marriage in a private ceremony in Los Angeles. Sources described their relationship as strong, with one noting that they "work really well together" and are "absolutely in love with each other."
Following the ceremony, Healy performed with his bandmates for the reception guests. Bechtel, originally from Orange County, California, previously fronted the punk-pop band Nasty Cherry, formed by Charli XCX. The couple, who announced their engagement in 2024 after a nine-month romance, are reportedly considering staying in Los Angeles to be closer to Bechtel's family.
Healy's mother, Denise Welch, expressed her happiness about the marriage, stating Bechtel is "everything I would want in a daughter-in-law." She also mentioned Healy had a custom black diamond ring made for Bechtel. The couple's relationship began shortly after Healy's brief relationship with Taylor Swift in 2023.
