Australian Olympic diving champion Matthew Mitcham has established clear boundaries for his content on the subscription platform OnlyFans, stating he will not share full-frontal nudity or engage in sex acts. Mitcham, who joined the platform in 2022, believes this approach is crucial for maintaining his ability to work in mainstream television, particularly in roles related to the Olympics.

Mitcham, 38, revealed his content policy on the Mental As Anyone podcast, explaining that he applies a simple test before posting: "If I can defend it as art, then I'll post it." He acknowledged that more explicit material could potentially lead to greater financial gains, enabling him to purchase a house and clear debts, but he is unwilling to produce "full porn."

"It is a business and the people who really invest in the business make very, very good money," Mitcham said. "And like, I would love to just buy a house, I would love to, you know, pay off all my debts and everything, but I am just not willing to do full porn at this point in time."

His decision is influenced by his desire to continue appearing on mainstream networks like Channel 7 and Channel 9, especially during Olympic coverage. Mitcham also expressed a wish to work in morning television. He recognizes that television executives often adopt a conservative stance to appeal to a broad audience and avoid alienating viewers.

Mitcham noted that "it's not inconceivable that a lot of people might not like having a porn star presenting their morning television to their kids." He concluded, "I don’t know. Look, I just think it’s better to be safe than sorry."

This stance comes despite Mitcham having previously appeared nude on stage in theatrical productions, including the Australian play "Afterglow" earlier in 2026 and in London's West End the previous year. He described these stage appearances as a "bait and switch," where nudity draws an audience, but the production then delivers a strong narrative.

Mitcham, who won the 10m platform gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, also spoke about the importance of his sobriety. He has been sober for ten years following a past struggle with crystal meth addiction. He stated that his sobriety has helped him recognize the dangers of seeking money and external validation, which could be detrimental if he were less aware of his personal history. "If I were not so aware of my own history of being very dependent on external sources of validation, it could totally become not a healthy thing," he said. "But I guess because I only came to OnlyFans much later in life and my mental health journey … because I was many years sober before I decided to do OnlyFans, I was already aware of all that stuff."
