Matt Poole, ex-fiancé of influencer Tammy Hembrow, has revealed he and his new wife Annelyse were legally married in April, several months prior to their larger wedding celebration in Sydney. The former Ironman champion and his nurse wife shared previously unseen photos from the intimate legal ceremony, which took place in a Gold Coast hotel room.
"Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you… we actually got married back in April," the couple announced on Instagram. They explained that they wanted a friend, Jack, to officiate their wedding but had to complete the legal formalities first as he is not a registered celebrant. Their best friends, Matt Bevilacqua and Brielle Cooper, served as witnesses.
Annelyse shared that the secret nuptials were so private that even their families were not informed. For this legal ceremony, Annelyse wore a chic white mini dress with a plunging halterneck and a fitted bodice, paired with a delicate birdcage veil. Poole wore a classic black suit with an open-collared white shirt.
Months later, in October, the couple held a lavish ceremony in Palm Beach, Sydney, surrounded by friends and family. For this celebration, Annelyse opted for a more daring, lingerie-inspired white gown with a structured corset bodice and a sheer lace skirt. Poole changed into a cream dinner jacket, white shirt, and black trousers, completing his look with a black bow tie.
The newlyweds shared photos of themselves enjoying the celebration, posing by the water and embracing. Their son Parker and Poole's daughter Posy, from his previous relationship with Hembrow, were also present at the Sydney wedding.
Poole and Hembrow were engaged between November 2021 and December 2022, ending their relationship six months after welcoming their daughter Posy in June 2022. They maintain a co-parenting arrangement.
The revelation of Poole's wedding coincides with an emotional video shared by Hembrow on Instagram, where she appeared to be crying. In the post, she reflected on life's highs and lows, stating, "One of the most beautiful things about life is realising that even when things don't go the way you planned there is still so much happiness waiting for you!!"
