Jennifer Maune, known for her appearance on season 13 of Fox's 'MasterChef,' is set to open a farm-to-table restaurant and European-style pastry shop named Fleur in downtown Little Rock this fall. The venture, estimated at $3 million, will focus on locally sourced ingredients, seasonal menus, and scratch-made cooking.

Maune, who is also a mother of six, sees the restaurant as an extension of her personal philosophy that emphasizes the importance of family connection through shared meals. "It’s just important to me that we gather around a table," Maune told Fox News Digital. "That’s kind of where we connect. We hear about the day, we hear about what’s coming up for the week, talk about homework, grades, you know — what’s going on in their lives, friends, activities."

She believes that in the face of busy American schedules and constant distractions, gathering around a table provides a crucial opportunity for connection, celebrating milestones, and developing relationships.

Balancing the restaurant launch with raising six children between the ages of six and 16 requires careful meal planning, family support, and realistic expectations. Maune acknowledged that drive-through meals, like those from Chick-fil-A, are sometimes a necessity for busy families. "As a busy mom, if we’re headed to a baseball game, and I’ve just picked up the kids from school, I’m the first one to go through a drive-through," she said, stressing that balance is more important than perfection.

At Fleur, Maune plans to collaborate closely with Arkansas farmers and growers, adapting the menu frequently to reflect daily harvests. She is also cultivating produce on her property for the restaurant. Maune described Southern cuisine as a "hidden gem" and noted its rich flavor profile, drawing parallels to the culinary traditions of New Orleans.

The restaurant will also feature an in-house bakery offering artisan breads and pastries, alongside an afternoon tea service inspired by Parisian and New York establishments. While Fleur will initially open in Arkansas, Maune has national expansion aspirations for the brand. A core principle for any future locations will remain "scratch cooking," with all sauces and condiments prepared in-house and a commitment to sourcing ingredients locally within each community.
