Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary were photographed embracing and kissing beneath the Eiffel Tower during a romantic trip to Paris, the pair confirmed via an Instagram gallery posted Wednesday.
The couple, who went public with their relationship in July after meeting on MasterChef Australia, shared images showing them seated on the grass near the landmark at sunset. Declan Cleary, 27, captioned the post, “We are exactly where we are supposed to be. The right place. The right time. This exact moment with each other we have both dreamt of.” Sarah Todd, 38, replied in the comments, “Couldn't be happier.”
The Paris outing follows interviews in which the pair addressed reports about their fast-moving romance. They told Daily Mail Australia that marriage is not currently on the agenda, but said they have established a family unit: Cleary has taken on a stepfather role to Todd’s 14-year-old son, Phoenix. “It's all relatively new but it's working great,” they said. “When it's right, it's right.”
Todd and Cleary have described their connection on the MasterChef set as immediate. In an interview with Stellar magazine, Cleary said they “instantly got along” and spent significant time together behind the scenes; he said his feelings became clear after Todd’s appearance in an elimination challenge. After filming concluded, Cleary moved from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Melbourne with his dog, Sol, to live with Todd and Phoenix.
The couple have also responded to public commentary about their age difference and recent media coverage. Cleary dismissed suggestions that he was “punching above his weight,” saying Todd is “beautiful inside and out” and joking about a magazine photoshoot that drew claims it had been AI-assisted: “Sarah’s just naturally beautiful. I'm happy with any help. Hair, makeup, AI!”
Their early relationship milestones include a first date in the Grampians National Park, where they spent a weekend visiting markets, dining and walking in the Central Victorian Highlands. The pair have posed together for magazine spreads and have said they are working and living together while navigating the pressures that followed their television appearance.
Todd’s former fiancé, Devinder Garcha, who was engaged to her for about two years within a five-year relationship, commented publicly that he had met Cleary recently and wished the couple well. “We try to keep it all amicable. It's all the best for the kid,” he told reporters, adding that Phoenix likes Cleary.
The relationship has continued to attract attention as the couple balances public profiles, family responsibilities and media commitments. They have declined to formalize any long-term plans publicly, saying they are focused on their current life together and the practicalities of living and working as a couple.
