Robert Cosby Jr., the 21-year-old son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Mary Cosby, was arrested Saturday just outside Salt Lake City on charges including criminal trespassing, assault, failure to stop at the command of law enforcement and three counts of violating a court order, according to Page Six.

Salt Lake-area authorities responded to a domestic violence report, and police allege Robert Jr. attempted to break into his father-in-law’s home through a dog door and assaulted someone on the front lawn. Investigators say a responding officer ordered him to get on the ground; he initially failed to comply but subsequently followed the command and was taken into custody.

Representatives for Cosby, the Bravo network and the Salt Lake City Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment, Page Six reported. The arrest marks the latest public legal incident for Robert Jr., who has previously been involved in several run-ins with law enforcement.

In 2022, police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence; authorities said he had been operating a vehicle without a license and disobeyed traffic laws. Prosecutors dropped other charges in that case after he pleaded guilty to the DUI, then faced additional scrutiny later when he reportedly failed to show proof that he had completed a court-ordered rehabilitation stay.

Robert Jr. has been open about substance use and treatment on the Bravo reality series. In a November 2024 episode of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, he described beginning drug use at age 16 and detailed mixing prescription and illicit substances. "At first, I was like, I’m just gonna stick to natural stuff. And then, I went to a party, and someone gave me a Xanax. And then I was like, ‘Oh, I like this,’ so I started buying it," he said on the show. He later described a period when he was consuming large quantities of pills and reached a turning point that prompted treatment.

Mary Cosby has publicly discussed her son’s recovery. In December 2024, she told host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that Robert Jr. had become a "new person" after entering treatment and that she was proud of his progress.

Court records and police reports tied to the most recent arrest were not immediately available for public review, and it was unclear whether Robert Jr. had been arraigned as of the publication of the Page Six report. The allegations and prior incidents underscore ongoing legal and personal challenges faced by a family frequently featured on reality television.

Page Six was the primary outlet reporting the arrest. The Salt Lake-area matter will proceed through the local criminal justice system, where prosecutors will determine whether to file formal charges and what conditions, if any, apply while the case moves forward.
