San Diego is set to host the annual Comic-Con International, with Marvel Studios planning a significant presence in Hall H to generate excitement for its upcoming film "Avengers: Doomsday," slated for a December release. The studio aims to chart a course forward amid a shifting landscape for superhero films.

The Hall H panel on Saturday is anticipated as a key event at the convention, which officially opens Wednesday evening. Attendees can find exclusive merchandise, including a "KPop Demon Hunters"-themed Hot Wheels Porsche 911 and a customizable "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" Funko figure set.

Comic-Con, which began in 1970 with a few hundred science fiction and comics enthusiasts, now draws over 120,000 attendees. The event has expanded to include a wide array of attractions, such as cosplay contests, autograph sessions, obstacle courses, concerts, and panels covering diverse topics from video games to movie poster art and even fencing. This year's convention will feature discussions on new video game titles and a panel titled “Hollywood’s Love Affair With Fencing.”

DC Studios will also be present, showcasing its HBO series “Lanterns” with an interactive activation and a Friday panel featuring stars Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler. Both Marvel and DC studios are returning to Hall H after sitting out the previous year's convention.

Apple TV will host a segment on its comedy-horror series “Widow’s Bay,” which has garnered 19 Emmy nominations. Additionally, a panel on Friday will focus on "Spaceballs: The New One," the upcoming sequel to the 1987 parody. The film is expected to feature returning actors Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, and Mel Brooks.
