Martha Stewart has formally entered the beauty market with the launch of Elm Biosciences, a two-product skincare system that went on sale Wednesday.
The line, Stewart’s first beauty brand, centers on the A30 Elemental Serum and the Inner Dose Daily Skin Supplement. The serum, which the company says contains a proprietary A3O Complex designed to address visible signs of aging such as UV damage, pigmentation, dehydration and irritation, is priced at $135. The supplement is positioned to address “internal triggers of aging like inflammation, oxidative stress, and hormonal imbalance,” and the two products are offered together as the Dual Pathway Skin System at a reduced bundle price.
Stewart, 84, said she developed the products to simplify her routine after finding that one wall of her bathroom shelves was filled with numerous skincare items. She told InStyle that she wanted to pare down her daily regimen. The new line was formulated in collaboration with New York dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali, who previously helped develop other celebrity-backed skincare lines.
Stewart posted a selfie to Instagram earlier this month praising the results she said she has seen, writing, “My skin is tight. It is very clear. Few pores are evident and my skin radiates good health and good care.” Stewart told InStyle that her longtime makeup artist, Daisy Toye, has noticed an improvement in texture and tightness since Stewart began using the products.
Elm Biosciences markets the A30 Elemental Serum and the Inner Dose supplement as complementary components of a “dual pathway” approach, with topical treatment targeting external signs and the oral formula addressing internal biological factors. The company describes the A3O Complex in the serum as proprietary; independent clinical data and ingredient lists available to the public were not detailed in the company’s announcement.
The products were developed in New York and are being sold directly through the brand. Company materials highlight Stewart’s decades-long career in home and lifestyle publishing and broadcasting as background for her entry into beauty, noting her long-standing public interest in domestic care and personal presentation.
Industry observers have noted a continuing trend of celebrities and established lifestyle brands expanding into skincare and wellness in recent years, often combining topical products with ingestible supplements. Elm Biosciences follows other high-profile launches that emphasize scientifically framed formulations and collaborations with credentialed dermatologists.
Stewart has cultivated a wide-ranging lifestyle portfolio over several decades, including publishing, television, home goods and cooking. Elm Biosciences represents her first foray into a dedicated skincare brand, bringing the 84-year-old entrepreneur’s name and creative input to a market segment that has grown rapidly in the past decade.
