Former Married At First Sight groom Brent Vitiello was found to have shared a stock travel image on Instagram that he presented as a view from an airplane window while on holiday in Bali, according to a reverse image search.

Vitiello, 36, posted a photograph to his Instagram account that he said captured the city skyline visible from his flight. A reverse image search showed the same photo has circulated online for several years and appeared on Pinterest and other sites before Vitiello’s post.

The former reality television contestant has also posted other images from what he described as a relaxed holiday around the Indonesian island, sharing snaps of himself visiting local sights. The stock-image disclosure prompted renewed scrutiny of his social media activity.

Vitiello has faced online criticism in recent months related to his business ventures. In August, reporting said a leaked text-message exchange revealed his surprised response to a customer complaint about his sea moss brand, Mos X Daily. Earlier coverage also reported that Vitiello denied allegations that he scammed people in connection with his product.

Representatives for Vitiello did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Instagram post remains visible on his public account as of publication, though some comments on the post have questioned its authenticity.

The incident is the latest example of public figures being challenged over the provenance of images shared on social media. Journalists and fact-checkers commonly use reverse image searches to trace photographs and determine whether they are original or have been published previously.

Vitiello rose to public attention through his appearance on Married At First Sight and has continued to maintain a profile on social media while promoting personal projects. The disclosure that a travel image he shared was a stock photo underscores ongoing concerns about transparency and authenticity in influencers’ online content.
