Mariska Hargitay is set to host the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, honoring the best in television from the past year. The ceremony will air live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Hargitay, a four-time Emmy nominee and three-time winner, will be making her first appearance as mistress of ceremonies for the annual awards show. She also serves as an executive producer for the telecast.

This year's nominations are led by the HBO Max medical drama "The Pitt," which secured 25 nods. "Hacks" follows closely with 24 nominations, while Apple TV+'s summer hit, the horror-comedy "Widow's Bay," rounds out the top contenders with 19 nominations. Other notable shows with multiple nominations include "Pluribus" (18), "Beef" (16), and "DTF St. Louis" (13).

To be eligible for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, shows must have aired between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. Page Six's predictions favor "The Pitt" to win Outstanding Drama Series, citing its momentum from previous awards ceremonies, including last year's Emmys and this year's Golden Globes. The show also recently earned an award for guest actor at the Creative Arts Emmys. Despite strong showings from contenders like "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and "The Diplomat," "The Pitt" is anticipated to remain the dominant drama.
