Golden Globe-winning actress Marilyn Hassett, 78, was recently seen on a rare public outing in her native Los Angeles.

Hassett, who was married to film director Larry Peerce from 1980 to 1984, was spotted running errands earlier this month. She was photographed wearing a white shirt, pale pink shirt, and white pants, along with a black cap and carrying a grocery bag.

Born in Los Angeles, Hassett began her acting career with a small role in the 1969 drama "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" at the age of 21. Her most notable success came in 1975 with her portrayal of ski racing champion Jill Kinmont in "The Other Side of the Mountain." This role earned her a Golden Globe Award for New Star Of The Year - Actress in 1976. Her biggest success came in the 1975 drama The Other Side of the Mountain, in which she portrayed ski racing champion Jill Kinmont

Director Larry Peerce, now 96, also directed Hassett in "The Other Side of the Mountain." The pair collaborated on other films, including "Two-Minute Warning" (1976) and "The Bell Jar" (1979). According to reports, Hassett sustained a significant injury in 1969 while filming a commercial when an elephant stepped on her. This incident led to her being bedridden for five months, an experience that reportedly made her a more fitting choice to portray Jill Kinmont, whose own skiing career was tragically cut short by a paralyzing accident.
