Margot Robbie has been spotted for the first time on the set of the upcoming Ocean's Eleven prequel, a heist film set in the 1960s. Robbie, dressed in an elegant white midi dress, was seen alongside co-stars Bradley Cooper and Monica Barbaro during filming in Paris, France.
Cooper, who is also writing and directing the untitled project, was seen in a navy T-shirt and beige chinos. Barbaro, in a nod to the film's era, wore a blue power suit and white shirt while on set.
Production Details
The film is expected to focus on the parents of Danny Ocean and is set during the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix. Sources confirmed Cooper's involvement as writer and director earlier this year after filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung stepped down.
Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Jack Holden, Lauren Ridloff, Omar Sy, Wagner Moura, and Josh Gad are also attached to the project. Robbie has been involved since 2022, with early reports suggesting Ryan Gosling might also be part of the cast, though his current involvement is unclear.
Producer Josey McNamara expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "I think we're just trying to do right by the franchise. I'm excited for people to experience it when it's ready."
The Ocean's franchise began in 2001 with a cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Matt Damon. Previous installments include Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, with Ocean's 8, a female-led spin-off, released in 2018. The original inspiration for the film series came from the 1960 film of the same name, featuring Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin.
This production news emerges as reports circulate about salary negotiations for a potential Barbie sequel. Margot Robbie reportedly earned $50 million for her role in and production of the first Barbie film, which grossed over $1.4 billion. However, discussions for a sequel are reportedly stalled, with Warner Bros. and the creative team unable to reach an agreement on salaries for Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and other key cast members.
