Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff are navigating their separation with "love and kindness," a source told Page Six. The insider indicated that rumors of infidelity are untrue and that the couple is working through their split together.
"They’re figuring this all out together," the source said, adding that "sometimes, these things just don’t work, and it doesn’t need to be for any dramatic reason."
Reps for Antonoff and Qualley could not be reached for comment.
The news of their separation broke earlier this week. Sources told People that the pair, who were married for less than three years, had experienced "rocky" times for a while. The insider also confirmed that they are "figuring things out."
Another source told Page Six that "challenges" within the relationship contributed to the split. "Jack could be very particular about how he liked things," the source explained. "He’d often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight." Communication was cited as a significant challenge between them.
Qualley and Antonoff were last seen together publicly on Feb. 1 at the Grammy Awards. However, clues suggesting relationship difficulties had appeared online in the months prior. Approximately two months after their last joint appearance, Qualley altered her Instagram handle from @isimostar, a reference to a song by Antonoff, to @sarahmargaretqualley23. Fans also observed that the band Bleachers had removed the song "Margaret" from their tour setlist.
The couple first sparked dating rumors in August 2021 after being photographed kissing in New York City. Qualley confirmed their engagement in May 2022. They married in August 2023 in an intimate ceremony in Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
