Malika Haqq, a close friend of Khloé Kardashian, has publicly criticized co-star Natalie Halcro, describing her as "self-centered" and lacking accountability. The comments, made in an interview with Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea," precede the debut of their new Hulu reality series, "The Girls."
Haqq, 43, stated that she believes one of the cast members is "self-centered" and "thinks about herself a lot." She suggested that this behavior on Halcro's part led to a "lack of accountability" during the filming of the show.
"I don't think she's as comfortable as being as forthright as, say, Yris [Palmer] is, or she's just a little more sensitive," Haqq speculated about Halcro, 38.
However, Halcro's co-stars and cousins, Nicole Williams English and Olivia Pierson, defended her when interviewed separately. Pierson disagreed with Haqq's assessment, stating that Halcro "is not self-centered" and "gave her all" to the project. Williams English added that Halcro "always puts everybody before [herself]."
Halcro herself expressed confusion regarding Haqq's remarks, saying, "I definitely was vulnerable, and when things hurt my feelings, I definitely was open and shared that, but that's about it."
"The Girls" is a six-episode series executive-produced and narrated by Khloé Kardashian. The show focuses on Kardashian's circle of friends as they navigate motherhood, relationships, and interpersonal dynamics. While many of the cast members are new to reality television, Haqq is a seasoned presence, having appeared in "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and its successor, "The Kardashians," as well as the spinoff "Khloé & Lamar."
The series is set to premiere on Hulu on Friday, Aug. 21.
