Maisie Williams drew style inspiration from her on-screen mother, Sandra Bullock, for the world premiere of "Practical Magic 2" in London.
Williams, 29, wore a custom red, corset-style gown by Ellie Misner that paid homage to Bullock's 1999 red carpet ensemble at the premiere of "Forces of Nature." The custom dress featured a satin finish and a similar silhouette to Bullock's boat-neck top and silky skirt from two decades prior. Williams accessorized her look with a Roger Vivier satin clutch and a ruby and diamond choker.
Bullock, 62, who attended the premiere alongside co-star Nicole Kidman, 59, and Joey King, expressed her delight at Williams' sartorial tribute. She shared a side-by-side image of their looks on Instagram, captioning it, "My heart just exploded."
In "Practical Magic 2," Williams and King, 27, play the daughters of Bullock's character, Sally Owens. Kidman reprises her role as Sally's sister, Gillian.
The sequel, set 25 years after the original film, is adapted from Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel "The Book of Magic." The plot follows the Owens women as they unite to confront the source of their magic and protect the next generation. The film also features Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest reprising their roles as the Owens family aunts.
Original cast members Evan Rachel Wood and Alexandra Artrip played the younger daughters in the 1998 film. Wood, who was 11 at the time, stated she offered to return but her role was recast. Artrip, who played younger daughter Antonia, has since left acting.
"Practical Magic 2" is scheduled for release in cinemas on September 11. The original film, released in 1998, grossed $68.3 million globally against a $75 million budget but has since achieved cult classic status. Bullock and Kidman also served as executive producers for the Warner Bros. Pictures film.
