MAFS UK star Holly Ditchfield has expressed her profound grief following the deaths of her premature twins, Georgie and Marley, who passed away just nine days after birth. Ditchfield, 31, announced the tragic news on Instagram, stating that she is "struggling to accept reality" and that "there are no words for the pain" she and her partner, Aaron Summers, are experiencing.
The twins were born at 23 weeks gestation on August 26, weighing 1lb 1oz and 1lb 2oz respectively. They passed away within hours of each other, with Georgie dying on September 3 and Marley on September 4. Ditchfield shared that both babies took their final breaths in the arms of their parents.
In her social media post, Ditchfield thanked friends, family, and fans for their outpouring of support, explaining her difficulty in responding due to her overwhelming sorrow. "I have read so many of them, but I honestly just don’t know what to say... I’m struggling to find the words, struggling to process everything and struggling to accept that this is actually our reality... Some moments I feel like I’m going to wake up from the worst nightmare, and then I remember my boys aren’t coming home," she wrote.
Ditchfield reflected on the precious, albeit brief, time she and Summers had with their sons. "They gave us the most precious week of our lives. A week I would live over and over again, just to have those moments with them. To hold them. To look at them. To love them. To be their mummy and daddy," she stated. She added a prayer for her sons to be at peace.
Ditchfield, who appeared on MAFS UK in 2024, emphasized the unimaginable nature of losing a child. "Nothing could ever prepare you for losing your children. Nothing prepares you for having to walk your babies to a mortuary. We have seen and faced more in these 9 days than I ever imagined possible, and my heart feels completely bruised," she shared. She concluded her message with a tender farewell to Georgie and Marley, assuring them they would forever be a part of their hearts.
