Carina Mirabile, the former Married At First Sight bride, said she is in a new romance with an unnamed NFL player after a seven-week trip to the United States, and described an unexpected interaction with the management team of rapper Quavo over past public comments.
Mirabile, 31, told Daily Mail Australia she met the athlete in New York and that they had a "nice experience". She said she has known him for years, first connecting on Instagram and later on celebrity dating app Raya before arranging to meet while she was in the city. She declined to reveal his identity, saying only that he is "very handsome" and appears ready to settle down after a lengthy NFL career.
Mirabile said the New York date followed a sustained period of communication and was part of a broader American stay she described as a sabbatical. She told Daily Mail Australia that she enjoys dating in the United States because, in her view, American men are more direct and assertive, while Australian men are more hesitant to approach women. She also said she feels prepared for the lifestyle of a WAG — the partner of a professional athlete — but that her attraction was not solely based on his profession.
The trip also prompted an unexpected exchange with members of Quavo's entourage, Mirabile said. The interaction related to an earlier disclosed hookup she had with the rapper years before appearing on Married At First Sight, a storyline that featured on the series and prompted a volatile response from her then-husband, Paul Antoine. Antoine, 31, punched a hole in a wall in the Sydney apartment they shared after the revelation aired.
Mirabile said a man in Quavo's entourage contacted her while she was in the United States and criticised her for discussing the encounter on her podcast, This Is Chaos. She quoted the man as saying it was inappropriate to speak publicly about her sex life with someone of Quavo's profile. Mirabile told the man, "I'm a small fish compared to Quavo! He won't listen to my podcast," and said he replied, "You'll be surprised!"
The rapper's identity in relation to Mirabile's earlier disclosure was later reported by Daily Mail Australia. Mirabile has repeatedly described the earlier liaison as predating her time on Married At First Sight.
Mirabile's comments come after her recent separation from Paul Antoine and follow her return to Australia from the United States. She has remained a public figure since her appearance on Married At First Sight, where personal relationships and past encounters featured prominently in her storyline.
Representatives for Mirabile and the NFL athlete did not respond to requests for comment. A representative for Quavo did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the reported exchange.
The developments underscore the continuing attention on former reality television contestants whose personal lives intersect with high-profile entertainment and sports figures, drawing public scrutiny and media coverage beyond their television appearances.
