Madonna was photographed hand-in-hand with boyfriend Akeem Jeffries as the couple left private member’s club Lou Lou’s in London’s Mayfair on Thursday evening, drawing attention for both their attire and their company.

The 67-year-old singer wore a plunging lace corset with sheer panels beneath an oversized black suit and shielded her eyes with sunglasses. She accessorized with gold jewelry and layered crucifix necklaces and matching earrings. Jeffries, 29, wore a black pin-striped suit, sunglasses and polished dress shoes and carried a black leather bag.

The couple were joined by fashion designer Tom Ford, who was also wearing a suit and sunglasses. Photographs of the group were distributed by British tabloid outlets and circulated on social media on Friday.

Madonna and Jeffries first met in August 2022, according to media reports, though their relationship was not confirmed publicly until the following year when Madonna shared images of them together on Instagram. The pair were reported to have briefly separated in October 2024 before reconciling weeks later. Earlier this year the singer fueled engagement speculation when she appeared to flash a diamond ring in a New Year’s Instagram post.

The outing comes as Madonna continues to attract attention not only for her personal life but for a long‑gestating film project about her life. Actress Julia Garner confirmed in recent interviews that she is attached to portray the singer in a biopic that Madonna is expected to write and direct. Garner, who signed on to the project in 2024, told W Magazine that the film is “a work in progress” and discussed preparing for the role, including rehearsing dance and vocal elements during an audition that involved Madonna.

On the SmartLess podcast, Garner said she had to convince Madonna she could dance and sing and described the audition as a test of whether she could inhabit the role. “I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it,” she said, adding that projects of that scale often take time.

Madonna has pursued film projects about her life for several years. A film titled Who’s That Girl was in development in 2023, and various versions of a biopic have been discussed since 2020. Details about the current production schedule, financing and release plans have not been announced by Madonna or her representatives.

Madonna’s personal life has frequently intersected with her public career. She has been married twice, to actor Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989 and to director Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008. She has a daughter, Lourdes, born in 1996 with fitness trainer Carlos Leon, and a son, Rocco, born in 2000 with Ritchie. Madonna has also adopted four children from Malawi: David, Mercy and twins Stella and Estere.

The Mayfair appearance is the latest high-profile public sighting for Madonna, who remains a central figure in pop culture conversations that span music, fashion and film. Representatives for Madonna, Jeffries and Tom Ford did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Photographs of the outing and continued statements from members of Madonna’s creative circle are likely to shape further coverage as work on the biopic and other projects moves forward.
