Madonna shared intimate details about her life and career during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, discussing her complex relationship with her late brother, Christopher Ciccone, and a past feeling of jealousy towards fellow pop star Kylie Minogue.

Relationship with Christopher Ciccone

Mádonna spoke about her bond with her brother, who initially played a significant role in her early career, serving as a background dancer and later her tour director. The relationship became strained when Madonna appointed choreographer Jamie King to direct her Drowned World tour instead of Christopher. The rift deepened when Christopher published a book about their family in 2008.

"For a really long time, I perceived him as one of my biggest enemies," Madonna told podcast host Jay Shetty in a previous interview, recalling that they reconciled before his death. "It was him being ill and reaching out to me and saying, 'I need your help'. I felt so relieved. It was such a load off my back... to finally be able to be in a room with him and holding his hand even if he was dying and saying, 'I love you and I forgive you.'"

During her conversation with Graham Norton, Madonna revealed that she wrote the song "Fragile" after Christopher called her from the studio, in apparent distress. "He was in a lot of pain, on the phone, and he was not in a good place. I knew it was close to the end," she said. "And then I went upstairs and wrote a song." She described the songwriting process as cathartic, stating, "To let go of somebody you love, the best way to do it is to write about it. It's like an exorcism."
