Pop music titans Madonna and Kylie Minogue surprised fans with a joint stage appearance at WorldPride in Amsterdam on Saturday night. The two global superstars united for an impromptu performance in the early hours of the morning.
Madonna, 67, appeared on stage in a purple corset and skirt, while Minogue, 58, sported a matching purple strapless blouse paired with silver trousers. The crowd erupted as Madonna introduced Minogue, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, the beautiful Kylie Minogue....the lady in purple is here." The two shared an embrace, with Madonna expressing her happiness, stating, "I'm so happy to be here with you Kylie, thank you, I love you."
The iconic duo performed "Love Sensation," a track from Madonna's latest album, "Confessions II." Minerogue shared a post on Instagram thanking Madonna and the event organizers. "@madonna Thank you everyone at Club Confessions World Pride Amsterdam @heymistr @tschukraft @stuartpriceofficial."
Madonna's new album, "Confessions II," recently debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in July, selling 134,000 copies. The album's success was significantly driven by physical sales, which accounted for 114,000 of its first-week total. The remaining 19,000 were streaming-equivalent units. Madonna expressed her gratitude and surprise at the album's reception, calling it "incredible."
"Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this and who has helped make this dream come true. Especially my fans. The goodwill and positivity has been incredible. I’m still pinching myself. I can't believe it’s #1 all around the world," she wrote in an emotional social media post. "My dream was to make people dance this summer!! To bring people JOY! Dreams do come true. Thanks and love!"
"Confessions II" also achieved number one status in the UK, making Madonna the first American female artist to have a number one album in the country across five different decades. Critics have also lauded the album, with aggregate review sites like Metacritic marking it as one of the most critically acclaimed pop releases of 2026.
