Netflix's live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" has introduced a new character for its second season, Fei, an original creation for the series played by actress Madison Hu. Fei is a member of the Earth Kingdom and is designed to confront Prince Zuko with the consequences of the Fire Nation's actions.
In the series, Zuko encounters Fei and her brother Peng after he assists Peng in the market. They invite Zuko into their home, where they share their tragic backstory, which has been impacted by the Fire Nation's war. Fei and Zuko share a significant emotional moment.
Madison Hu is a 24-year-old actress previously recognized for her role as Frankie Wong in the Disney Channel comedy series "Bizaardvark," where she starred alongside Olivia Rodrigo. She also made an appearance in "Best Friends Whenever." Beyond her Disney work, Hu has acted in films such as "The Boogeyman," "Night Shift," "Voyagers," and "The Brothers Sun."
Prior to being cast as Fei, Hu was a popular fan choice for other characters within the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" universe, most notably Mei, who is portrayed by Thalia Tran in the live-action series. Hu and Olivia Rodrigo maintained their friendship after "Bizaardvark," having known each other for over 12 years. They frequently appear on each other's social media and are often seen together.
