Mackenzie Phillips, known for her roles in "American Graffiti" and "One Day at a Time," has revealed a significant personal shift, sharing on Valerie Bertinelli's "Getting Naked" podcast that she has been celibate for 15 years. The 66-year-old actress stated that her social energy is easily depleted, requiring solitude to recharge.

"I would get home, and I would have no words left, you know, and so in order to get up and do it again the next day, I had to be alone to recharge," Phillips said, as reported by People. "Which is, by the way, why — am I going to say this out loud? I have been celibate for 15 years."

Phillips, who has been married and divorced three times, explained that she feels she has "had enough sex to last for several lifetimes for several people" and now focuses on self-care, referring to it as having "my little friend in the bedside drawer."

Phillips' confession echoes similar sentiments shared recently by actresses Sharon Stone and Teri Hatcher, who have also spoken about extended periods of being single and abstaining from dating.

Sharon Stone, the star of "Basic Instinct," shared on the "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" podcast that she has been celibate for a considerable time. She expressed a desire for companionship over casual intimacy.

"I'm a really good girlfriend, but I haven't been a girlfriend in a long time," Stone said. "For quite a long time I’ve had no luck at all. I've been celibate for quite a while now because I'm just at the point where I really only want to be with someone that I care for."

Stone, who has been married twice, added that she is now looking for "someone that's my companion, not just someone to have sex with," and described herself as being "in the no luck at all phase right now."

Meanwhile, "Desperate Housewives" actress Teri Hatcher recently disclosed that she has not been on a date in seven years. Hatcher, 61, told HELLO! magazine that while she remains open-hearted, she actively avoids dating.

"I don't date, I don't look to go on dates. I haven't been on a date in … I don't think I'm exaggerating if I say seven years," Hatcher stated. She highlighted the fulfillment she finds in her friendships and community, noting that many of her long-term friends are married.

Hatcher also recounted an experience where she was removed from a dating app after her profile was flagged as fake. "You know, I thought, I'm going to say to the universe that I am open and vulnerable, and I'm putting myself out there," she explained on "Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone." "That's what I thought my gesture of joining that Hinge app would be. And then they kicked me off. They thought I was pretending to be Teri Hatcher."

She has since decided to move on from dating apps, preferring to meet someone organically if it happens, and emphasized her current happiness. Hatcher was previously married twice, divorcing both times and sharing a daughter from her second marriage.
