Lucy Mecklenburgh has shared the reasons behind her and husband Ryan Thomas's separate sleeping arrangements and explained that their wedding plans are on hold due to shifting priorities.
Mecklenburgh, 35, stated that actor Thomas, 42, snores and sleep-talks, which disrupts her sleep. "I have to sleep, especially with two young kids," she told The Mirror, explaining that Thomas often ends up in the spare room.
The couple, who have been together since 2017 and got engaged in 2019, share two children, son Roman, six, and daughter Lilah, four. Mecklenburgh noted that having children before marriage has changed their priorities. "I think it's become harder because we had kids before we got married," she said.
Thomas had previously mentioned their sleeping arrangements on his podcast, "At Home With The Thomas Bros." He revealed that in their Manchester home, they use separate beds and living rooms. However, in their smaller London residence, they sometimes share a bed due to a lack of space.
Thomas also discussed his affection for Mecklenburgh, calling himself "besotted" with her and feeling like the "luckiest man in the world" during a recent trip. This came after his brothers teased him about Mecklenburgh displaying public affection, which they noted was unusual for her.
The couple's wedding plans were initially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, forcing them to postpone their nuptials. Mecklenburgh indicated that while they do wish to marry one day, it is not their current focus amidst raising their young family.
