Singer Lucie Jones has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with her partner, restaurateur George Hersey. Jones announced the birth on Instagram on Friday, sharing a series of photos of the newborn.
The couple has named their daughter Elowen Hersey-Jones. "We are so lucky to be parents to the most perfect angel on the planet," Jones wrote in her announcement. "This little girl has dropped in to change everything and we are utterly besotted."
Jones, 34, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2009, has had a prolific career in musical theatre since her time on the competition. She has starred in productions such as "Les Miserables," "We Will Rock You," "Legally Blonde the Musical," and "Rent." Most recently, she played Fantine in "Les Miserables" at the Sondheim Theatre.
She also represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 with the song "Never Give Up on You," finishing in 15th place. Jones also made an appearance at Glastonbury Festival earlier this year.
Jones and Hersey have been together since last year, having known each other for many years prior to their relationship blossoming from a friendship. The singer's past marriage was to Ethan Boroian, which lasted eight years.
