Luciana Paluzzi, the Italian actress renowned for her role as the seductive SPECTRE agent Fiona Volpe in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball, was recently spotted on a rare outing in Los Angeles. Paluzzi, now 89, was seen maintaining her signature scarlet hair, a striking element of her iconic on-screen persona.

During her outing, Paluzzi was dressed casually in dark trousers, a white shirt, and a navy blue cardigan with white stripes. She accessorized with a white purse worn crossbody-style.

Born in Rome, Paluzzi began her film career in the 1950s, with her work spanning Europe and the United States. Her early roles included appearances in American films such as Return to Peyton Place and the World War II drama No Time to Die (released in 1958, predating the Bond film of the same name). She also starred in European productions like the 1956 Brigitte Bardot comedy Plucking the Daisy and the 1959 Italian film My Wife's Enemy, where she shared the screen with Marcello Mastroianni.

In Thunderball, Paluzzi portrayed Fiona Volpe, a SPECTRE agent who used her allure to trap James Bond, played by Sean Connery. Although she initially auditioned for the role of Domino, which ultimately went to Claudine Auger, Paluzzi expressed satisfaction with her part as Fiona, finding it more engaging.

Paluzzi exited Hollywood in the late 1970s, marrying media mogul Michael Jay Solomon in 1979. Her extensive filmography includes roles in Chuka, Black Gunn, 99 Women, and The Green Slime. She also reunited with Thunderball director Terence Young for War Goddess and The Klansman. In Europe, she appeared in the 1975 Italian sex comedy L'Infermiera, alongside fellow Bond girl Ursula Andress.
