Yasmin Pettet and Jamie Rhodes, who finished third on this year’s Love Island, have confirmed they have split and denied claims that Pettet cheated after reports she was seen close to Traitors star Freddie Fraser at the National Television Awards.

The former couple posted separate statements on Instagram and TikTok on Monday saying the split occurred before the NTAs but had not been formally announced. Pettet wrote: “As per my recent TikTok myself and Jamie split before the NTAs but hadn't formally announced it yet. We're still really good friends and I'll always have so much love and care for him for making my Love Island experience what it was.”

Pettet also addressed the cheating rumours directly, saying she found it “laughable” that people thought she had been unfaithful with Freddie Fraser and adding: “Anyone who knows me knows my type is late 20s, 30s plus.” Reports in several tabloids said Pettet was later seen “getting cosy” with Fraser, who appeared on the BBC series Traitors earlier this year and has attracted a largefollowing.

Rhodes said in his statement that the pair had decided to move from a romantic relationship to friendship “in a very amicable manner and before the NTAs.” He denied that Pettet had cheated on him and disputed accounts that he was angry after the awards. Rhodes wrote that he had been trying to get a ride back to his hotel with other attendees when asked where Pettet was and that he had said she “f***ed off,” a phrase he described as something he says when company leaves. “It was also said that I was fuming at the party after the NTAs when it was the complete opposite actually, it was a great night!” he added.

The couple attended the NTAs together and walked the event’s red carpet, but some reports, citing an attendee, said the pair were not together for much of the afterparty and that Pettet was seen holding hands with Fraser and leading him to a more private area. Those accounts were reported by tabloid outlets and described as observed by partygoers. Daily Mail and other outlets contacted representatives for comment.

Pettet and Rhodes rose to prominence on ITV2’s Love Island, where contestants commonly develop followings that lead to influencer work, television appearances and brand deals. In recent weeks Pettet announced a separate career development: she is set to sign with Storm Management, the fashion agency that has represented high-profile models and actors. The Daily Mail reported that Pettet would be the first Love Island alum to join Storm.

Pettet told the publication she has “always loved high fashion” and called Storm “the perfect synergy” for her next chapter, pointing to opportunities across TV, advertising, editorial and branding. Sarah Doukas, Storm’s founder, said the agency was “very excited to be formally representing Yasmin,” noting her style and personality and saying the agency had been working with “the likes of Marc Jacobs” on opportunities. ITV has been reported to be considering further television and commercial projects for finalists from this year’s show.

While Pettet recently said she felt “really bonded” to Rhodes and that there was “no rush to be intimate,” both former partners emphasised in their statements that their split had been mutually agreed and amicable. They thanked supporters for their backing and asked that rumours be put to rest.

Neither Pettet, Rhodes nor representatives for Fraser provided further comment to media outlets beyond the social media statements. The former couple’s public posts mark the first formal confirmation of their separation following days of speculation after the NTAs.
