Jen Terry, who gained recognition as a contestant on "Love Island USA" Season 8, commented on a moment at the show's reunion where Kayda Bosse appeared to shade host Ariana Madix. Terry told Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea" that the exchange "wasn’t a big deal in person."

Terry, 23, suggested that the perceived shade might have been amplified by editing. "I don’t know if that [shade] was towards [Madix]," she said. "That wasn’t a big deal in person."

While Terry had not rewatched the reunion, she confirmed seeing the clip in question. She expressed surprise at such behavior from Bosse, speculating that the moment was "clipped" to create the impression of shade being thrown at Madix. "But I don’t know," Terry admitted.

The exchange occurred during a contentious discussion between Jaiden Bacciocco and Caleb McDaniel, who were voted the least compatible couple by their fellow Islanders and exited Season 8 as a result. Despite their villa interactions, Bacciocco revealed at the reunion that they had been intimate twice after leaving the show. Bosse questioned Bacciocco's decision to continue engaging with McDaniel after he reportedly treated her poorly. Madix intervened, calling Bosse's remark "harsh."

Bosse responded to Madix, stating, "It’s really not that harsh, babe."

This interaction led to backlash from viewers online, with some questioning Bosse's awareness of Madix's public profile and others deeming Bosse's comment "weird."

Madix, a long-time cast member of Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules" before hosting "Love Island USA," experienced a surge in fame following her ex-boyfriend's infidelity scandal. However, Madix clarified that there were no hard feelings between her and Bosse. She commented on an Instagram post, assuring fans, "She’s cool and we are good. I took no offense. It’s all good ❤️."

The "Love Island USA" Season 8 reunion is currently available for streaming on Peacock.
