Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare are experiencing wedding planning stress as their upcoming Mallorca ceremony approaches. The couple, who legally married in Manchester's Stockport Town Hall last month, are set to exchange vows again in Spain in two weeks.
Smith and Clare, who met on Love Island: All Stars in 2024, admitted to The Daily Mail that they have encountered some "wobbles" during the final preparations for their destination wedding. "It's got to the stressful part, just because we're weeks out and only because it's invoices being sent and all the last bits that you start to panic about," Smith explained. She added that questions from guests also contribute to the mounting pressure.
Clare echoed these sentiments, stating, "We just want it all to be perfect, but like you said, there's just like little bits, people asking silly questions." He noted that while the situation isn't overly difficult, their desire for the event to go smoothly contributes to the stress. Smith humorously pointed out Clare's stress-cleaning habits, such as vacuuming, as an indicator of his anxiety.
The couple discussed their wedding preparations while attending Hitched.co.uk's Summer Social Mixer. The website is described as a platform connecting couples with wedding vendors, venues, and planning tools.
Their legal ceremony in Manchester was described as a "really special and intimate" occasion. Following the ceremony, the couple and close friends and family celebrated at The Ivy. What began as a calm dinner reportedly turned into a lively affair with guests dancing on tables, and best man Casey O'Gorman ending up "in a heap on the floor."
Smith also shared details about her attire for the legal ceremony, opting for a simple dress and a pillar box hat. She noted that unlike her prom dress shopping experiences, finding her wedding dress for the Mallorca ceremony was surprisingly straightforward. "The first dress I tried on is the dress that I ended up going for," she said, describing how her mother and friends became emotional upon seeing it. Despite initial disbelief that it would be the first dress she tried, she ultimately chose it after trying on others.
The couple attributed the success of their relationship outside the Love Island villa to "good communication," shared interests, and a similar sense of humor. They plan to spend a few extra days in Mallorca after their wedding to savor the experience before heading off on a minimoon, the details of which are not yet finalized.
