Dumped Love Island contestant Elicia Bailey has strongly criticized her co-star Priya Jaswal, labeling her remarks about Bailey's National Rail job as a "personal attack" and "crazy." The dispute arose after Jaswal publicly questioned Bailey's presence on the spin-off show Aftersun, suggesting she "go back to the National Rail."

Bailey, who works as a team organizer for National Rail and reportedly earns around £30,000 annually, expressed her disappointment on the Love Island Debrief podcast. She stated that Jaswal's comments were "bitter and jealous" and a "personal attack" on her career, which she believes is a respectable and vital role.

"The comments that she made tonight, she said that I attacked her character, but I was asked a question on Aftersun," Bailey explained. "I didn't call them like begging them to get me on. Everybody goes on Aftersun. I was asked a question, it wasn't an attack on anyone's personality, anyone's character but the comments she made was a personal attack, like where I work. That's crazy, I'm the target."

The incident occurred after Bailey had called Priya "the biggest game player" on the show during an appearance on Aftersun. While Bailey insisted her comments were in response to a direct question and not a personal attack on Jaswal's character, Jaswal's reaction targeted Bailey's profession. Viewers on X, formerly Twitter, widely condemned Jaswal's remarks, with many calling them "vile, classist and tone deaf." They defended railway workers, emphasizing that their jobs are essential and deserve respect.

Kavan, brother of Priya's partner Aidan Murphy, interjected during the show to defend Bailey's job, stating, "There's nothing wrong with working for National Rail, alright?" However, other islanders, Jasmine Müller and Mica Harris, reportedly giggled at Jaswal's remarks, drawing further criticism. Aidan later spoke to Priya about the problematic nature of her comments.

Bailey defended her own comments about Priya, asserting that she was simply stating what "everyone else was thinking." She suggested that Jaswal's strong reaction indicated her own bitterness and jealousy.

The controversy follows a recent surge in Ofcom complaints related to Love Island, with 533 complaints filed in the past week. Several episodes have drawn viewer ire, including "Movie Night" and the boys' return from Casa Amor, with accusations of "women-hating" behavior. Bailey's remarks about Jaswal and Jaswal's subsequent job-shaming comments have added to the show's ongoing scrutiny.
