Love Island Australia personality Yana Marks experienced a significant financial setback when her new merchandise line, Tradxe Chicks, was released with a prominent spelling error. The 22-year-old reality star and former plumber discovered the mistake on Thursday, just as production was underway for the T-shirts.
The blue tops featured the phrase "I'm literalty just a girl," an intentional misspelling of the intended "I'm literally just a girl." Marks, who also works as a plumber, shared her dismay in an Instagram Story video, noting that the error was discovered after the items had already entered manufacturing.
"Oh, my fing god, guys. Only me. They're already in manufacture. Like, they're already getting made," she expressed in the video. "We fing spelt it wrong. Like, what? Why did I not see that? I'm so dyslexic. We just shot this whole fing campaign. No one has noticed it. What the f?"
Marks had shared campaign images of herself wearing the T-shirt just an hour before the error became public. Fans quickly pointed out the misspelling in the comments section of her posts.
Responding to criticism, Marks defended the error, stating that the brand had previously released the same design in black and had only been approving a new colorway, leading to a lapse in triple-checking the spelling. She highlighted that the eight-hour photoshoot involved four people, none of whom noticed the mistake until it was posted on TikTok. "We're human, mistakes happen," she stated.
Some followers suggested keeping the shirts as they were, appreciating the unique flair the typo added. "I'll take one with the T," one commenter wrote, while another added, "Dude this shirt is going to stand out with the spelling. I'm here for it." A third noted that the mistake made the shirt "so much better" and was "such a girl thing to do."
