Phoebe Thompson, a former contestant on Love Island Australia, married her partner Colin Evans in a small ceremony in a Sydney hotel room over the weekend while heavily pregnant with the couple’s first child.
Thompson, 34, shared a series of images from the nuptials on Instagram and said the pair — together for six years — decided to "keep it simple" and move their larger wedding forward because the baby was due around the same time. "Officially tied the knot in a hotel room before baby boy," she wrote. "Even though we had to move our big wedding forward, as bub planned to make his arrival at the same time. This intimate ceremony was everything and more."
Photographs posted by Thompson show her in a revealing gown that left her large baby bump on display. Evans, who works with the clothing brand Mental, wore a casual black suit and T-shirt. The couple exchanged vows in the hotel room, which offered views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and then shared a private dinner.
In the Instagram post Thompson signaled plans for a larger celebration after the birth, writing that she intended to get "lit" and be "skinny" at their "next wedding," and signing off as "Mr & Mrs Evans." The couple announced their engagement in January, posting a rare image of themselves in a staged nude photo shoot wrapped in a white sheet and a separate shot showing Thompson’s diamond ring.
Thompson has been public about a difficult pregnancy, telling followers earlier this year that she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum and prenatal depression. She described experiencing severe, persistent sickness and emotional struggles, writing that she had been "fighting for my life in the first trimester" and that what she faced "wasn't morning sickness — it was all day and night." She said the months that followed had left her "bedridden and broken" at times but that she was in her third trimester and improving.
Thompson first came to public attention on Love Island Australia season two in 2019, when she formed part of the franchise’s first same-sex couple. Since leaving the show she has worked as an adult model and launched a subscription-based website featuring nude photos and videos for paying subscribers. In March 2022 she faced criticism after asking people to subscribe to her site as a way to raise funds for Queenslanders affected by floods.
Thompson and Evans have not disclosed further details about a larger public celebration or the couple’s plans following the birth. Their decision to marry privately in a hotel room underscores a trend among some public figures toward smaller, more intimate ceremonies timed around family needs rather than large, preplanned events.
Representatives for Thompson did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment. Instagram posts by Thompson serve as the primary public account of the wedding and her updates on her pregnancy and health.
The ceremony marks a new chapter for Thompson, who has continued to document both professional projects and personal developments on social media since her time on reality television.
