Love Con Revenge, a six-episode true-crime docuseries that follows Cecilie Fjellhøy — one of the women featured in the 2022 documentary The Tinder Swindler — is among Netflix’s top-ranked shows, according to the streamer’s public ranking system.
The series, which premiered Sept. 5, pairs Fjellhøy with private investigator Brianne Joseph as they probe elaborate romance scams and seek accountability for victims who say they were defrauded by people they trusted. Each episode breaks down a different scam, tracing how perpetrators groom victims and craft financial schemes.
All six episodes of Love Con Revenge are now available to stream on Netflix. The program continues a recent wave of true-crime series that examine digital-era fraud and interpersonal deception, following public interest sparked by earlier high-profile cases and documentaries.
Across other streaming platforms, several scripted and unscripted series are also drawing attention. Betrayal, an ABC News true-crime series based on a podcast of the same name, returned Sept. 2 for a third season subtitled Under His Eye and is trending on Hulu. The season focuses on a single mother named Stacey who falls for a charismatic doctor; the discovery of a hidden camera in the couple’s home leads investigators to uncover a pattern of abuse and deception.
On HBO and HBO Max, Task — a crime drama miniseries that premiered Sept. 7 — is among the top shows on the platform. Mark Ruffalo stars as an FBI agent who leads a task force investigating a string of violent robberies in Philadelphia allegedly orchestrated by an ostensibly ordinary family man played by Tom Pelphrey. The ensemble cast includes Thuso Mbedu, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel and Martha Plimpton. New episodes are scheduled to premiere on Sundays.
Prime Video’s current trending entry, The Runarounds, comes from the creator of Outer Banks and follows a group of recent high school graduates who form a rock band while navigating summer romances and the pressures of coming adulthood. The eight-episode series features a cast that includes musicians William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock and Jesse Golliher, alongside actors Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas and Brooklyn Decker.
Peacock’s top program at the moment is The Paper, a spinoff set in the universe of The Office. The series follows the returning Dunder Mifflin documentary crew as they encounter a struggling Midwestern newspaper and a publisher attempting to revive it. The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson with a supporting cast that includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg and Oscar Nuñez. The show was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman and has already been confirmed for a second season.
The latest rankings and trends reflect a mix of true crime, prestige drama and franchise-based comedies occupying streaming audiences’ attention. Viewers interested in these series can find them on their respective platforms, where episode schedules and availability are set by each service.
