Lou Teasdale and former England striker Andy Carroll were photographed hand in hand and smiling at a London awards event on Tuesday, weeks after reports that the couple had split twice following a series of rows, the Daily Mail reported.
The pair attended the Superdrug Stars beauty event at The Dilly in Piccadilly, where they posed for pictures alongside other guests. According to the Daily Mail, the reconciliation follows an on-off relationship that has included disputes at Glastonbury in June and a reported police inquiry in Mykonos over drunken arguments; no arrests were made in that matter.
Friends and acquaintances of Teasdale told the Daily Mail they had been surprised by the couple's repeated reunions and voiced concern that she appears determined to remain with Carroll. One source quoted by the paper said Teasdale "just won't leave Andy, she's just absolutely in love with him," adding that she returns to him after apologies and "grand gestures."
Carroll, 36, rose to prominence with clubs including Newcastle United and earned international caps for England. In recent years he has played at lower levels of the English game; the Daily Mail reported he is currently with Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South. Teasdale, 41, is a co-founder of the tanning brand Tanologist and is described by friends in the report as a successful businesswoman and influencer who owns a home in Hackney, east London.
The couple are reported to have first met at Glastonbury in 2024 and went public with their relationship last September. Shortly afterwards, Carroll issued a statement saying he and his then-wife Billi Mucklow had "privately separated earlier this year" and that divorce proceedings were under way, the Daily Mail said. Mucklow cared for the couple's three children while Carroll also maintains two older children from a previous relationship.
Friends quoted in the report pointed to a history of incidents involving Carroll, including a video that emerged last July of a brawl in Mayfair following a meal at the restaurant Sexy Fish, and a 2012 altercation with a photographer. The Daily Mail also referenced an earlier arrest that led to a fine after an assault outside a Newcastle nightclub. The report said Carroll was questioned by police in Mykonos this summer but was not arrested.
Teasdale's friends told the paper they had expected her to move on after the first split, saying she had been uncomfortable with Carroll's reported drinking. Some in her circle described him as a "party boy" and said they believed Teasdale, who was formerly engaged to musician Tom Atkin and is mother to a 14-year-old daughter, had a low tolerance for further relationship turmoil. Other friends, however, say they have resigned themselves to the couple's pattern of breaking up and reconciling and even suggested marriage could still be possible.
The Daily Mail's account relied on anonymous friends and sources close to Teasdale for characterisations of the relationship and motivations. Representatives for Carroll and Teasdale did not immediately provide comment to the paper in relation to the reported reconciliations and the claims cited.
The couple's on-again, off-again relationship has been followed in the tabloid press since it became public, with coverage focusing on personal disputes, past incidents and the impact on extended family and social circles. The Daily Mail reported Teasdale's circle as divided between those who hope she will move on and those who have accepted the relationship's cycle of arguments and reconciliations.
The reported reunification at Tuesday's awards event comes amid ongoing public interest in the private lives of sports figures and influencers and follows several months of episodic reporting on the pair's relationship status.
