Influencer Lorna Luxe has revealed that her late husband, John, made arrangements for her 44th birthday and their 17th wedding anniversary, even though he knew he would not be alive to share the occasions with her. John passed away in February at the age of 64, following a battle with stage four adrenal cancer diagnosed in 2023.

Lorna's birthday, which falls on Tuesday, also marks the couple's 17th wedding anniversary. "So, yeah, this week’s going to be challenging to say the least," she stated in her column for The Sun.

She explained that John had informed her closest friends about his plans for her birthday before his death. "John has got the actual day covered, too – as well as leaving me notes telling me how to live life without him, he gave my friends instructions before he died to 'make sure they organise something nice' for my birthday."

Lorna indicated that she would not be celebrating in their former home, a £2.5 million property they called the 'Ghost House.' "It’s too emotional to have our anniversary in Ghost House – I’m not ready for that yet," she said. The couple had purchased the house in 2023 but had to vacate it in 2025 due to flooding. John and Lorna had been discussing plans to redesign the home's bathrooms before his illness progressed.

They had been living in a rental property, where John died. Lorna has now decided to return to the 'Ghost House.' "The repairs started last September, so I’m grateful that we had that summer there together. John swishing about the garden in his yellow shorts is a memory I will cherish," she recalled. "We’d hoped to be back there together, but his cancer got the better of us, and he died in our rental house in February."

Lorna plans to keep John's ashes in an urn in her garden, where she can spend time with him. "So now it’s just me on my own, squaring up to move back in. Well, me and my Maltese terrier Kev Bear. I’m tempted to get him a doggy brother – one that can bite any burglars who fancy their chances!"

The 'Ghost House' earned its name due to its transparent design and its secluded setting, which hides it from view as one approaches. Lorna is now preparing to move back into the home they had loved.
