Thirty-six years after undertaking an all-night exploration of London for the Daily Mail, journalist Charlotte Eager, now 60, has revisited the capital to assess whether it still lives up to its reputation as a city that never sleeps. Eager's initial investigation in 1990 tested the city's 24-hour-fun credentials.
Her return to London aims to determine if both the city and she herself can still keep pace with the demands of round-the-clock activity. The re-evaluation offers a personal and comparative perspective on the evolution of London's nocturnal offerings over more than three decades.
