Brandon "Bug" Hall, known for his role as Alfalfa in the 1994 film "The Little Rascals," has turned to GoFundMe to raise money for his growing family. Hall launched a campaign on Thursday, stating he "really need[s] some help" as he and his wife prepare to welcome their sixth child.

In the fundraiser's description, Hall explained that six years have passed since he last sought public financial assistance. He cited falling behind on bills after moving to a new property in rural Arkansas as the reason for needing help with "getting the last few things buttoned up" before the baby's arrival. He expressed gratitude for any support, whether monetary, through sharing the campaign, or through prayer.

The campaign has already surpassed its initial $2,000 goal, raising over $10,000. Hall has previously spoken about living a more secluded life. In 2020, he told the Daily Mail that he had taken a "vow of poverty," was living off-the-grid as a "radical Catholic extremist," and had donated his childhood earnings to charity. At the time, he stated his goal was to minimize financial needs, taking on odd jobs for cash when necessary.

This GoFundMe comes several months after Hall was arrested in Ohio in April and charged with failure to appear in court for a traffic citation. In 2020, he was arrested in Texas for huffing air duster cans.

Hall, who also voiced the character of Alfalfa Switzer in the 1994 comedy, has shared that his family homeschools their children and that he intends to discourage them from pursuing higher education, which he referred to as "nonsense." He has also publicly expressed views against gay marriage and abortion.
