Hattie Dynevor, daughter of Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor and sister to Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor, has pushed back against the "nepo baby" label, asserting that her acting career is built on her own hard work.
Despite her mother's 40-year tenure on the popular ITV soap and her sister's rising fame, Hattie revealed that she auditioned for Coronation Street but did not secure a role. "Imagine if Sally fostered a child and then it was her actual child," she told The Sun, highlighting the potential narrative conflict.
Hattie stated that her mother, despite her standing in the industry, could not significantly influence her children's careers. "She can't do anything to help us really. Maybe she could get us a foot in the door, but ultimately, I have to do the work and I have to put the time in – it's down to me," Hattie explained. She noted that both she and Phoebe have faced similar comments regarding their family connections.
Hattie began her acting career in the BBC's Waterloo Road, playing Libby Guthrie, and later secured a role in the Netflix thriller Legends. She also served as Maid of Honour at her sister Phoebe's wedding to actor Cameron Fuller in Provence in August.
Phoebe Dynevor's wedding featured subtle tributes to her Bridgerton character, Daphne, with a color palette and decor inspired by the show. The ceremony took place at the French farmhouse Le Mas des Poiriers, accommodating up to 250 guests. A source told The Sun that the wedding was "absolutely perfect."
