Lisa Snowdon, 54, is viewing her current phase of life as a "new chapter," embracing aging with a positive outlook, she revealed in a recent interview with Prima. This comes amidst reports that she has split from her fiancé, George Smart, after a 12-year romance. The couple, who were last pictured together on Snowdon's Instagram in January, have not shared recent travel photos, fueling speculation about their relationship status.
Snowdon explained her perspective on aging, stating, "I'm 54 now and see this time in my life as a new chapter. It's important to reframe ageing in a more positive way." She added that this period allows for a "readjustment" and a focus on personal needs and desires, describing it as a "second spring," particularly for those without the responsibilities of raising children.
Beyond personal reflections, Snowdon also touched upon her career aspirations, expressing a desire for another "big TV presenting gig." She also detailed her experiences with menopause, describing how alcohol could trigger intense mood swings. "I used to get so angry after a few glasses," she said. "All of a sudden, I'd turn into the devil and I had no idea why. I felt groggy and heavy and I didn't sleep. Now, I have much less alcohol. I'm not going to deny myself, but it's about balance."
During the height of her menopause, Snowdon shared that anxiety significantly impacted her professional life. "My confidence was at rock bottom, and I was having panic attacks thinking, 'I can't do my job.' My mind was playing tricks on me," she recalled. She described instances of experiencing panic attacks before significant events, such as a hosting job for an audience of 1,000 industry professionals, which led her to turn down opportunities.
Menopause is defined as the natural biological stage when menstrual periods cease permanently, hormone levels decrease, and pregnancy is no longer possible. It is officially diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a period, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55.
Snowdon and Smart, an entrepreneur, initially dated two decades ago and reconnected in 2014, becoming engaged in 2016. In March 2025, Snowdon stated she was in no rush to marry, telling Hello! that she did not have a traditional vision of marriage and saw it as a contract. She reiterated this sentiment in 2023, telling Closer that while committed, they lacked the energy for a wedding, noting it wouldn't change their relationship dynamic beyond her being able to call him her husband.
In recent months, Snowdon has been seen on solo holidays and with friends, including at Wimbledon, with Smart absent from social media posts. Her Instagram has featured posts about the liberation of traveling alone, contrasting with earlier shared trips, such as a visit to New York in December 2025 where they dined with actor Matt Damon. Smart's social media account is reportedly set to private.
